Damage Calculations

So let’s assume you have a spear with piercing 7, and a strength of 2. You have rolled to hit and successfully hit (rolled higher than their defense + modifiers), but did not crit (rolling 5+ over their defense + modifiers gives you 1 extra impact per 5 up to double the damage of the weapon (in this case 14 (2xP7)).

Damage is calculated as follows:

(Wep + str + modifiers) / 3 = Xd6 + or -

or

(7 + 2 + 0) / 3 = 3d6

A second example:

Bill uses his killing blow talent with his piercing 8 spear. He has +1 strength. The poor soul he is killing right now has a 19 defense. Bill rolled a 42 to hit him. This means a 4x crit, or +4 modifier to damage. So damage is calculated as follows:

8 + 1 + 1 (killing blow) + 4 (crit modifier) / 3 = 14/3 = 5 minus 1 = 5d6 – 1 dmg

An example ending up with 13 damage would give you the dice roll 4d6 + 1 dmg
